Problem

There was a need for EY’s clients and their employees to have a hub where they would have their immigration and tax documents accessible when traveling for work or when managing documentation. We were creating an application from the beginning as EY clients had expressed various pain points when providing and maintaining tax and immigration documents for employees when traveling.

Goals

User Goal

The goal of the user is to be able to easily access and provide immigration information and ensure their immigration documentation is managed

Business Goal

The goal of the business is to ensure they and their employees are compliant with all immigration and tax documentation, by having a tool they can easily maintain and control employee information as well as collaborate with auditors and tax experts (EY).

App was launched successfully in app store, generating new client accounts valued at $200M+

Design Process Roadmap

I created the roadmap and design process strategies that would enable the vision of the App to come to life.
Stakeholder Workshop

I led the stakeholder workshops to gain more insight on the needs, pain points, wants and other insights gathered from the user research workshops. As the findings were synthesized into categories, my team and I discovered that it was important for the user to have features and functionalities that provided a system to manage immigration and tax documentation in a dashboard that provided status updates on the progress of their documents that were sent to EY.

Experience Maps
I created the experience maps and site maps that defined the information architecture and highlighted the flow of the user's experience as they engaged with the app.
Wireframes
I led the efforts with my team to sketch the low fidelity wireframes that were tested.

Result

There were several features and benefits the app provided, to name a few:

easy access to biometrics, an ability for the user to download documents from EY such as tax returns and provide details for tax returns and immigration documents from any device. The app was launched on time in the APP store and is in current use supporting multi-national and large enterprise Organizations, through the success of the app we gained more clients with accounts valued at $200M. With the next steps, there are plans to constantly iterate, by building out the calendar portal to provide notifications and work on multi-factor authentication features.
